Date

So we signed on a place, which means we've set a date. Aug 19 it is, 2 days before my 28th birthday :)
We're going to get married at a place called Ein Yael, here in J. It's a very natural site, with a bit of an archeological edge to it. They set it up really beautifully, with little tea light candles in the crevices between the rocks and lovely coloured tablecloths on round tables outside under the stars, with old olive and other trees all around. I think we made a good choice :)

Now let the countdown begin!
Just  under 3 months to pull everything together :)
Next on the list is to find someone to marry us...

Ah, weddings...

This is such a gorgeous wedding-- I couldn't help but post these photos. It even almost looks like it could've been in Israel...

decor ideas

I think it's really cool to focus on lighting for decor ideas. The lanterns and such can be really pretty, and lighting is a great way to set the mood.

Here are a couple of hanging lanterns that i thought were nice... i really like the leaf theme.

Wedding planner for an outdoor wedding

Ok. so you do need hebrew for this one... it's the israeli version of a wedding planner. he's kinda like a contractor, only for weddings. and he seems great. His name is Elazar, and you can find info here. he can show you photos, and he has connections with caterers, florists, and anything else you could want at your wedding... so check him out. His company is called Pashut Bateva (Simply in Nature). he specializes in pulling off outdoor weddings in all sorts of places. he's really professional and seemed like he'd be great to work with. 

Reception ideas

Just an idea for an outdoor wedding setup. very simple, with white tablecloths and wooden chairs. and there's an alternative seating set up on the side. i think the key here is good, flattering lighting... (These photo is courtesy of Ein Hemed, an event venue just outside of Jerusalem).

Centerpieces

Are you looking for some ideas for center pieces? i'm not a huge fan of the intricate complex-looking flower arrangements. i think i like a more natural look. here are some ideas i found...

This would be a great ambiance setter. very romantic...

Sure, this is very simple. but with some scattered rose petals around, i think it would look pretty amazing.

If you're having a daytime outdoor wedding, or even a night reception, but you want to go really natural and green--you can make a mini herb garden as your center pieces. bonus: close friends and family take home the herbs after--no flowers wasted!

Tiny clusters of a few simple flowers in small glasses combined with some tall candles make a great simple centerpiece. you could probably do it yourself or have a friend put them together for you.
